I bought this puppet for use at an audition (and hopefully as a rehearsal prop!) for a local production of an adult puppet-based musical. It can be tough to find puppets that are well made (yet not ridiculously expensive!) and that are sized for adult hands, which I have learned is critical in order to avoid hurting yourself when trying to be “expressive” when the puppet talks and sings. This one fits the bill beautifully. I was a bit worried when it arrived in a rather flat shipping box, but as soon as I removed it, the puppet popped into shape and the fur was easy to fluff up. The mouth has plenty of room for a large hand and is both firm and flexible. IT DOES COME WITH A METAL ROD that can clip to either wrist for operating one of the arms — I’m not sure it said so in the description, so I was glad to see that it did include one. The fur is long and comes down pretty far over the mouth, so I took the advice I read somewhere online and trimmed it way down around the upper lip so that it is easier to see her expression and articulation of words. This worked well and did not detract from the look at all. I borrowed my pets’ slicker brush for a little tidying up of her fur. Once you have the fur neatened up, for a “wilder” look, just shake her around and she’ll get nice and fluffy.Side benefit: as soon as I started rehearsing/playing with this puppet, my 4-year-old son was enchanted by her and immediately started interacting directly with her instead of with me. Ah, puppet magic!

The media could not be loaded. Β Iβll start with the good parts. The puppet is very expressive and easy to manipulate. I find that itβs almost like it comes to life on its own when I put my hand in there, which means either Iβm crazy, the puppet is cursed, or itβs just a good design with a lot of character. (Her name is Purple, because her parents were extremely unimaginative and it was the first thing that came to mind.)Out of the box: You will have to fluff out the fur and pull bits out that have been stuck under seams. Someone else mentioned trimming the fur around the mouth. Thereβs a lot of fluff around the mouth that gets in the way, and I will probably have to do that as well. Itβs not awful-looking, but it covers up the mouth quite a bit. Imagine trying to style troll hair into a goatee, and there you are.Quality: Mine arrived a little googly-eyed. Itβs not really something you can adjust, so I just have to roll with it. I was surprised that the arms and legs are unstuffed, lifeless and floppy given that they look like they have some heft in the photos. Manipulating with the rod is a little awkward with the super-floppy arm. Itβs a bit like that scene where Harry Potter has his arm bone magicked away. I wish the arms and legs had even just a little stuffing so they wouldnβt dangle every which way. Otherwise, the overall quality is pretty nice.Discrepancies: The description says the puppet wears a 2T. I tried a 2T tee shirt and it comes to the puppetβs ankles. Maybe they mean 12M? My puppet measured about 27β, so Iβm pretty sure I was sent the correct product even if thatβs not really even close to 30β in my book. Donβt be like me and take the tag off before youβve tried the clothes on the puppet. Hopefully I know someone with a 2-year-old that likes Star Wars. Iβll try another size later.

Photos and videos are to come. I bought the Kindle “how to” book along with him. He has gone around my smallish town almost every day since he was “born.” I’m still working on teaching him to speak properly, but since he’s only a couple of months old, what can a gal expect? I’m a business owner in a smallish town and a nut. I got him to help keep me sane. It’s working! Larry has gone to restaurants and bars, to the movies, and even been out dancing once. He now wears a Hawaiian shirt (that’s mine), and will soon be getting his OWN wardrobe. For normal people, he’s easy to manipulate and comes with his “hand stick.” Again, I am a nut, and have always wanted a ventriloquist person (I refuse to call Larry a dummy or puppet). I recommend this version of Larry to anyone who just wants to have fun with kids, adults, or anyone. Larry even lost his “stick” when he was dancing, and I was able to find more.
